Khalmohammadi Carpets : Khal Mohammadi carpets are handmade by Turkmens in the north of Afghanistan. The main colors are dark red in various shades. The warp is wool. Dominating octagonal patterns with curvilinear designs in dark blue, ocher and beige.
Afghan Carpets : Afghan carpets are woven in villages and handmade-carpet workshops in Afghanistan. The deep reds and the entire range of red, from purple to brown are their dominant colors. Repeating octagons, rhombi, yomut motifs and the design that looks like an elephant's footprint are typical of these carpets. Their warp is wool. Khal Mohammadi are also renowned carpets. They are woven by Turkmen in the north of the country.Also Aktsa, which are woven in central and northern parts of Afghanistan,et al.
Nomadic carpets with designs influenced by urban carpets: They are carpets woven by nomads who for the past few years had been living in villages. The carpets are woven in the nomadic style of weaving, but their designs are nowadays influenced by urban carpets. Due to the nomadic style of weaving carpets are sometimes uneven in shape.

Flat woven at one or both ends of the carpet's width: In some carpets the nomads weave at fringes on a narrow Kilim one or both sides of the width, or they weave them artistically into small braids.
