Ziegler Carpets : Ziegler Carpets: The production of the Ziegler carpets began in 1848 in Arak, Persia by a German-Swiss company called "Ziegler & Co". Concerning their weaving technique and their designs, the Ziegler carpets are  directly influenced by the famous Persian carpets Mahal and Sultanabad. However, Ziegler carpets are made in larger sizes, they have simpler designs and fewer color combinations. Due to their visual harmony that derives from their simple motifs and their earthy colors, Ziegler carpets have become very popular in Europe, as they can be matched easily to any home, modern or country-style. Most of the Ziegler carpets are woven today in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Although they have not a particularly high knots density (160.000-200000) their wool is of excellent quality which makes them extremely durable.

Farahan Carpets : The area Farahan is located in Central Iran, about 580 km south of Tehran between the cities Arak, Qum and Kashan. This area has got a long history in the carpet industry and from the 19th Century it has made large exports to Europe. Nowadays, in Western countries Farahan carpets are also known as Mahal. These carpets have solid construction and fine designs. To create them mineral colors are used that give a copper-rust green color. Woven in Sarou they are among the most famous carpets in the area. They often have got a blue background in the pile, with repeating Herati designs and a medallion that is surrounded by roses and other flowers with delicate lines in a variety of colors. Their wool is soft and of very good quality, which allows for a very fine and tight weave.

Classic Carpets: Carpets that are woven in urban centres in fixed workshops and looms(as opposed to nomads). Their designs are first done on paper by carpet designers. These designs are strictly conducted by the weaver during the manufacturing. Even in these carpets, though there may be slight variations in weaving.

All CarpetU2 carpets are subject to cleaning with high quality antibacterial and moth protection products according to Persian law.

Horizontal or vertical shading in the carpet pile: The shading is due to folding the carpet during transportation. When the carpet is laid and stepped-on they will vanish. Examples

Abrash: Due to the different amount of grease in the wool and the added salt during the process of dyeing, the wool has got a varying colour absorbance. This is not very visible before weaving. During the weaving though, lines of the same colour are formed in the carpet. This is called Abrash (which in Farsi means little cloud) and it shows that the wool was not manufactured using chemical means and marks the naturalness and authenticity of the carpets. Examples
